M.A.D.D.

An example of civic engagement comes in the program Mothers Against Drunk Driving, or M.A.D.D. M.A.D.D.’s goal is to eliminate drunk driving from our roads today. The programs mission is stop underage drinking and driving under the influence. DUI’s are the nation’s most committed crime, according to M.A.D.D. M.A.D.D. is trying to make it a law that if you have committed the crime of driving under the influence, that you have to blow into a breathalyzer in order to drive your car. M.A.D.D. also is trying to prevent the nation’s youth from underage drinking by educating students about the effects of alcohol. The program teaching people about the effects alcohol has on people is good because it will teach people to not drink and drive or not be able to if they have been drinking, and teaches the youth about the dangers of alcohol.
