Public Advocacy-"I have a dream"

Public advocacy is when one speaks or writes to the public to address and/or argue about some kind of issue. One of the most famous examples of public advocacy is Martin Luther King Jr.'s "I have a dream" speech in which he called for equality and an end to discrimination. This speech was delivered to over 200,000 civil rights supporters. This can also be an example of civic engagement because he and the other supporters were protesting against discrimination. His persuasive, powerful, and moving speech will forever be recognized as one of the greatest forms of public advocacy of all time. This public speech was more than just about addressing issues; it was about making a difference and fighting for the right for equality.
