School Budgets

In my problem-solution speech, I addressed the problem of how failed school budgets and lack of state aid can affect students and the community in which they live. With the lack of school funds parents are forced to pay out of pocket so that their child can participate in after school activities, this should be stopped.
A way that some are trying to rectify this problem is by trying to convince others to change their votes "for" the budget. Many PTOparents are using this as an opportunity to spread the word that the budget NEEDS to be passed and are educating these voters along with the board of education on the effects of a failed budget.
In addition to the parents taking action, the students are as well. Many rallies have taken place since the failed budget as well as the state's cuts. The students are truly outraged especially since their teachers have to be fired. They have started many groups on facebook in addition to writing letters to the principle and superintendent about why these teachers should keep their jobs. This display shows voters why it is important to vote "yes" for the budget and help make the learning environment better as well as keep a few teacher's jobs.
