Protesters speak out
In 2009, my junior year in high school, the g-20 came to Pittsburgh for the group's third meeting. The g-20 is a group of representatives from 19 countries who get together every fall to discuss issues like the economy, international issues, and also environment issues. When this group came to Pittsburgh, there were many protesters and organizations speaking out as public advocates demanding change for whatever it was they were protesting. One group hung a massive sign (shown in the picture) from the West End Bridge sending a strong message which was to help the environment and cut CO2 emissions. Public advocacy can be expressed from one individual speaking out or as shown here, it can be as simple as protesters trying to get their message across.
